RESEARCH & DATA PROJECTS

From a policy question
to something useful.

You may have a question to investigate, evidence to organise, or data that needs to be made understandable. Let’s define the work around the decision you need to make.

What would help your work move forward?

Bring the evidence into focus.

We define the question, relevant sources and intended reader, then agree on a useful written output.

  1. The question and intended use
  2. Source review and synthesis
  3. An agreed brief or report

Research experience.
Public-facing work.

My research experience includes AidData, NUS CiRe, Semar Sentinel, UMY and FAIR. I also build public data projects that help people explore policy questions. We can use that experience to define an output suited to your audience and available evidence.

Agree on the question.
Then build the work around it.

A few things
to know.

Can we start with an unclear question?

Yes. Share the decision, issue or problem behind the project. We can discuss what needs clarifying before agreeing to a research scope.

Do we need to provide the data?

Tell me what you already have. We’ll discuss access, source availability and any data preparation needed before confirming the work.

What will you deliver?

Possible outputs include policy briefs, stakeholder maps, datasets, charts and dashboards. The proposal specifies the actual deliverables for your project.

How are timing and fees agreed?

They depend on the research question, available evidence, deliverables and feedback required. We agree on scope, milestones, timing and fee before work begins.

What are you
trying to understand?

Send the question, what you already have, and when you need the output. We can work from there.
